My Gocator sensor won't boot. How do I rescue the firmware?
Gocator can become unbootable due to multiple reasons often if an upgrade is stopped unexpectedly (for example, because of power failure or loss of connection) or due to an unexpected crash or hang happening during the GDK (Gocator development kit) or SDK (software development kit).
Before contacting the support team is worth to try the resuing your Gocator firmware. Currently, LMI Technologies provides two ways of rescuing the Gocator firmware.
- Rescue the sensor's firmware via web browser:
- Access the LMI Device Rescue page on the sensor by adding "/rescue" to the IP address of the sensor (for example, http://192.168.1.10/rescue).
- Follow the instructions on the page.
- Using the kRescue.exe from GDK package:
To be able to rescue the sensor using the kRescue.exe user needs to download the GDK Package from the LMI3D.com download page and then process the following steps:- Power off the device
- Make sure the device is directly connected to the PC – don't use a switch
- Configure the PC to use IP address: 192.168.1.1 and netmask: 255.255.0.0
- Start the kRescue application bin\win32\kRescue.exe
- Power on the device
- Close the rescue application
- Open a browser and point it to http://192.168.1.10
- Apply an upgrade package that is known to work
In case the issue still remains please contact the LMI Technologies technical support team by the web form.
