Answer
Sensor Model | All |
Firmware Version | 3.x, 4.x, 5.x, 6.x |
SDK Version | n/a |
Gate on External Input is a function that might be used as an additional digital input to Gocator Sensors to provide an data acquisition logic for example to acquire data in a specific moment. In this way, your Smart Gocator Sensor can use additional digital input criteria to start the data acquisition.
Often for users, it is confusing that the laser is flashing while the Gate on the External Input signal is low - yes, this is a correct behavior as the laser will be always triggered based on a signal delivered to a Trigger Source but the data acquisition of actual collected scans are generated and outputted only when the input signal deliver to Gate on External Input is high.
More about the Triggering Source and Gate on External input can be found in the Gocator Manual.
